Image Upload FAQ
How ZIP uploads, product matching, image replacement, billing, and upload history work in PlainKits Image Upload.
Do I have to include a CSV?
No. Match files using their names and folders. If manifest.csv is present, its file-to-product mapping takes priority.
Does “Matched” mean the image is already uploaded?
No. It means the app has identified the destination product. Nothing is uploaded to Shopify until you confirm and create the task.
Can I choose which images to upload?
Yes. Review the matches and exclude individual files. Correct or exclude unresolved matches before confirming.
Can I upload from Dropbox or Google Drive?
ZIP is the supported source today. Dropbox and Google Drive are not currently available.
Which image formats can I upload?
Use a ZIP containing JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, or AVIF images. Check the file review in the app before creating a task. ZIP is the supported source; cloud-drive imports are not currently available.
How are images matched to products?
Choose rules that match file names or folders to SKU, barcode, product handle, or product ID. If the ZIP contains manifest.csv, that file-to-product mapping takes priority. Resolve ambiguous matches or exclude those files before continuing.
Will it remove my existing images?
Only if you choose replacement. Add to existing images keeps the current images. Replace existing images replaces a product’s images after its new uploads succeed. Back up important images with Image Export before replacing them.
How does pricing work?
The first 100 successful uploads per billing cycle are free. Premium has a $0 monthly fee and graduated usage pricing: images 101–1,000 at $0.01 each, 1,001–10,000 at $0.002, and 10,001 onward at $0.0004. A rate applies only to images within that tier. Failed uploads do not count. Confirm the current terms in Shopify before upgrading.
Where can I see what happened?
Open History to check the background task, successful uploads, and failures. Check the affected products in Shopify as well. Do not immediately repeat an entire task after a partial result; review which images already succeeded.
