PlainKits builds small, single-purpose Shopify apps — why that constraint exists, how the apps are built, and who is behind them.
Why PlainKits exists
Most Shopify apps grow until they do everything and nothing well. You install one to solve a specific problem, and end up with a dashboard, an onboarding flow, and a monthly bill for features you never touch.
PlainKits goes the other way. Each app does one job, does it properly, and gets out of the way. If a task takes you two minutes and a few clicks instead of an afternoon of manual work, the app has done its job.
How the apps are built
Every PlainKits app runs inside your Shopify admin and asks only for the permissions its one job needs — Image Export, for example, requests read access to products and nothing else. It never sees your customers or orders.
The apps run on Cloudflare's edge network, so they stay responsive regardless of where your store is. Billing goes through Shopify's own Billing API, which means your payment details stay with Shopify and never touch our systems.
Who is behind it
PlainKits is operated by Craftheon, LLC, a company registered in Delaware, USA.
It's a small operation, which is part of the point — small apps, built and supported by people who actually use them. Email support@plainkits.com and a real person reads it, usually replying within a couple of business days.
What's next
The lineup starts with Image Export. More kits will follow the same rule: one clear job, done well, priced so it's easy to justify.
