An image handoff should make the next person’s work easier. This walkthrough creates a small, verifiable export before you download a larger catalog.
1. Choose a small product selection
Open PlainKits Image Export from Shopify admin. Start with a few known products, or use the app action from Products or a collection. If you use filters, check the collection, vendor, and product status so the selection matches the job.
2. Choose how the files will be organized
Pick a purpose preset, then review the file naming and folder structure. Product handles are useful for readable handoffs; SKU-based names can help a catalog team. Keep the generated manifest.csv with the images so a file remains traceable to its product.
3. Review the image preview
Check that the expected products and images are included. Exclude files you do not need. A product CSV contains image links; this workflow downloads the actual image files. It does not change your Shopify product images.
4. Confirm and download the ZIP
Review the final selection and usage information, then create the export. Follow the task until it completes and download the archive. Only successfully processed images included in the ZIP count toward your allowance.
5. Check the result before sharing
Unzip the archive and open several files. Match the image count and product identifiers against manifest.csv, and check any failures before calling the export complete. Keep the manifest beside the files when handing them to a designer.
Keep a local copy
Free archives are available for seven days; Premium archives for six months. Download a local copy for a lasting image backup. This is a product-image archive, not a complete backup of your theme, orders, or store.
